Medicines are given by psychiatrists, we as counsellors and psychologists dont have a role there. But you can seek therapy where we will teach u behavioural techniques for handling insomnia. Also u must know that medicines can only support but if its not combined with counselling then the root cause is not addressed and in such a situation , the medicine will loose its effect after sometime and dose will be increased to get earlier effect. Thank you for sharing your concern. It is commendable that you are looking for a healthier way to manage your sleep. However, I strongly advise you not to self-medicate or make any changes to your medication without professional guidance. Restyl (alprazolam) is a benzodiazepine, and long-term use can lead to dependency and tolerance. Abrupt changes or switching to another supplement like melatonin without proper supervision can cause withdrawal symptoms and worsen your sleep issues. It’s essential to address your sleep concerns with a comprehensive and tailored treatment plan, which may include: Gradual tapering of Restyl under medical supervision. Non-medication strategies such as sleep hygiene techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), and relaxation techniques. Exploring melatonin or other alternatives only if clinically appropriate. I urge you to book an appointment for a detailed evaluation. Together, we can design a safe and effective plan to improve your sleep health without causing harm. Self-medication can be risky, and I’m here to guide you through this process step by step. Kindly reach out to schedule your consultation.
